Crutch Chair is a portable, foldable chair recreated in 3D from reference photographs of the original product. The model was developed in Autodesk Maya with attention to the product's form, proportions, and folding mechanism. It was then UV unwrapped, rigged for its foldable functionality, animated, and rendered in KeyShot for a marketing video.

The modelling process began by studying reference images of the actual chair to understand its proportions, component relationships, and construction. These references were used to build the chair in Maya, working through the frame, platform, joints, handle, and other individual components. Attention was given to maintaining the correct relationships between the parts while developing the model with sufficient detail for close-up marketing shots.

Individual components were kept separate where necessary so their relationships could be represented accurately within the 3D scene. This provided the foundation for recreating the folding movement and allowed the model to behave more like the physical product rather than simply being a static representation.

The rigged model was animated to clearly communicate how the chair transitions from its compact folded form into a usable seat. The animation focused on making the mechanism and transformation easy to understand within the marketing presentation.

My role involved recreating the product from reference photographs, developing the 3D model in Maya, preparing the UVs, rigging the folding mechanism, animating its functionality, and producing the final rendered visuals in KeyShot.
